Another ghastly event at this club opposite Du Cane Court last night. Screaming and yelling, and a heavy police presence between 3.15am and 4am.

Was this to mark the opening of Oyster pay-as-you-go on that stretch of railway? About chuffing time. No pun intended.

Marina's, opposite Waitrose. Mentioned in my OP. There used to be one in Cavendish Road too, but I think that's also closed.

Ok - found one. Little old-fashioned jewellers in Northcote Road. £5.50 fitted.

Watch batteries/repairers

Would anyone happen to know where one can have watch batteries fitted in or around the area? The little jewellers (Marina's) opposite Waitrose has closed and the rip-off bastards at Timpsons want about £15 to fit a battery to a watch that isn't even worth that!

Wrong part of Balham to disturb me, I'm afraid. When the Bedford started opening later (many years ago now) we noticed an increase in noise down Fernlea Road as revellers left the pub and staggered back to Streatham at all times of the night.…

PJ's bar, Balham High Road

Anyone in Balham sick of having sleep disturbed by PJ's 'Wine' Bar's customers shrieking outside the venue and along the High Road until 4am on weekends can object to the granting of a planning consent to later opening - http://bit.ly/pj_bar
